Frequently Ask Questions
A dental emergency is any situation involving your teeth or mouth that requires immediate attention to relieve severe pain, stop bleeding, or save a tooth. This includes:
- Severe toothache that doesn’t respond to over-the-counter pain medication
- Knocked-out tooth
- Loose or broken tooth
- Lost filling or crown
- Abscessed tooth (painful swelling filled with pus)
- Soft tissue injuries (cuts or lacerations to the gums, tongue, or cheeks)
- Bleeding that won’t stop
If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, such as difficulty breathing or swallowing, severe bleeding, or facial trauma, go to the nearest emergency room immediately. However, for most dental emergencies, it’s best to contact our office for prompt and specialized care.
While a root canal is a common treatment for severe tooth pain, it’s not always necessary. Our dentists will assess your specific situation and recommend the most appropriate treatment, which may include a filling, crown, or other options.
It’s crucial not to delay treatment for a dental emergency. Postponing care can lead to further complications, increased pain, and potentially more extensive treatment later on. Seeking prompt attention can often save your tooth and prevent more serious issues.
If you knock out a tooth, try to reinsert it into the socket if possible. If not, keep it moist in milk or saliva and bring it with you to our office immediately.
We accept most insurance plans and offer direct billing for your convenience. We also have flexible payment options, including cash, credit card, and financing plans.
Upon arrival, we will assess your situation, provide pain relief, and discuss the necessary treatment options. We strive to make your experience as comfortable as possible.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We are here to help!
