Children's Care

About this service

Easy, Upbeat, Gentle

Kids love visiting Edmonton West Dental! From the waiting room to the chair, we provide a stress-free experience designed specifically for happy, brave smiles. A calm, no-rush approach and a judgment-free environment make us somewhere kids actually look forward to coming back to — and parents can relax too.

Children's Dentistry

Age-appropriate exams and cleanings that teach healthy habits while keeping teeth healthy. We explain every step in kid-friendly language and never rush past questions — big or small.

Sealants & Fluoride

Protective sealants seal the grooves of back teeth where decay most often starts. Fluoride treatments strengthen enamel and slow early cavities — two of the most effective preventive tools we have for children.

Frequently asked questions

When should my child first visit the dentist?

The Canadian Dental Association recommends a first visit within six months of the first tooth appearing, or by age one — whichever comes first. Early visits are short, low-key, and focused on getting kids comfortable.

Do you accept NIHB for children?

Yes. We bill directly to the NIHB (Non-Insured Health Benefits) program for First Nations and Inuit children. Families typically pay nothing out of pocket for covered services.

What if my child is nervous about the dentist?

This is very common and we're well-practised at it. We take extra time, explain things simply, and never force anything. Most nervous kids leave feeling proud of themselves.
